Snap Decision

I'm learning when it comes to photography, caution is not an attribute. Keeping my shutter pressed and my eyes peeled is essential to a successful shoot. For me a photo- shoot is very organic. I don't like to force my subjects to say "cheese", or stand in awkward positions or really anything that in essence stops them from being themselves for the benefit of the camera. A week ago I did a shoot with a couple of active boys. At one point, big brother knocked little brother down on purpose. He got up wet with snow and tears and was clearly heartbroken. Then big sister stepped in to comfort and console and big brother wrapped his arms around both of them. Snap. It was magic. And it turned out to be one of the best shots in the group. Make your own snap decisions and photograph things and people in a way that is outside of your comfort zone. You'll be glad you did.
